Howdy, cohort, I've gotten two pieces of writing now, and that doesn't seem to me enough to justify a three hour workshop or getting you all to third street, so I am going to get detailed feedback to those who sent me writing and I am going to simply assign presentation slots for next week. Everybody should be at least contacting your committees making initial efforts at scheduling final reviews and perhaps getting early feedback from chairs to ensure the final reviews go as smoothly as possible. And of course many of you have lots of writing to do before the final review actually arrives. Because of that I do think the next two workshops will be pretty important and I do hope everybody works hard and makes the most of them. All will be well, but get to it. Obviously, e-mail with any questions or issues you may have. I'll mass e-mail the presentation schedule for the next two weeks this week-end -- those of you who have strong opinions about going the first or the second week let me know, but the chips will fall as they may. Sign Up Sheet for Next Workshop

We decided Friday that there were enough of you at work on new materials -- fresh object readings, conclusions, and so on -- that we could have another productive workshopping day this Friday, the 24th. So, here is the sign-up sheet for that. I'd like at least five of you to sign up for this, so let me know in comments here on via e-mail asap, and be sure to get your materials to all your colleagues by Tuesday night so we all have time to get you good feedback. Newsflash!

I've got something going on Friday afternoon which would call me away at least an hour before Friday's workshop is scheduled to conclude. Howzabout we cancel instead and have this week's workshop next week? Everybody take a writing week. Given the fact that nobody scheduled for this week has sent me excerpts yet perhaps this is serendipitous. But, listen people, I am getting a little worried that for some of you the reality of the reality of the deadlines that are looming lacks the palpability in imagination that yields the urgency and drive that should be happening right about now. Don't make me start knocking heads. I've just gotten a very short haircut and I look like I should be barking orders to raw recruits. Don't make me open my whoop ass can! Write, write, write! I'll post the schedule for next week on the blog again, and I emphatically expect excerpts for workshopping to appear in everybody's boxes including my own by midnight Sunday! Anybody with questions about scheduling Final Reviews just e-mail me, anybody with writing excerpts needing feedback (even if you went last week) just send them to me as e-mail attachments.
